Solo elven fighter on Core, The begining is tough (Much like BG1 with that charachter, funny how on SOA+TOB the begining 'till you get to the higher levels is tough and in BG once you reach the XP cap the game get's tough) while once you get some XP buffer between you and your enemies the game get's insanely easy (It doesn't require much effort to be over level 30 before leaving the Underdark).
The ending was tough though, is tough actually, couldn't manage it...

Here are some strategies and tips some are a tad spoilery:

*It's funny how the ring of improved invisibility as such a high level loot as you can only get it by slaying a dragon when you can buy a ring of air control which is just as good for less then 2000 gold in the begining of the game. How is this a strategy? read on.

*Cloak of non-detection a lovely BG survivore you can get in the begining in a rather difficult for the start fight, But once you get it, combined with the power of improved invisibility granted by the ring of air control... TA DA all magic users who cannot see invisible (just about every none-lich magician) cannot target they're filthy spells at you, A pretty good substitute for the cloak of mirrors 'till you get it and still go it's uses even after that.

*That sword you get from Madulf, Yup it's only +1 but a mirror imaged fighter is a very entertaining prospect. You only have to put it in your quick weapons slot and you can use the ability.

*Same with the daystar, rotten weapon, lovely sunray.

*Dual wielding, as opposed to what many people say, is a viable soloist choice, just put the Crom-fayer in your off hand and you'll hit just as hard as some one who wields a huge sword. Plus you, you can get more equipped abilities wielding two weapons.

*Speaking of equipped abilities. The Darkblade is a VERY nice weapon, if you don't feel particularly inclined to kill irenicus you can just get all the tears but the Djinni and Selfish one cash them in go to the Djinni get the sword and import the game into TOB. Kind of cheesy, but you know I don't want to lose a dexeterity point and I didn't want to turn evil, though the 2 ac bonus is very nice.

*A very nice item that shouldn't be overlooked, especially Vs. mind-flayers: The ring of free movement. Combined with a charm protecting item (there are many. Which is good, cause for some odd reason if you solo and get charmed game's over) and optionally a confusion protecting item (the lilacor is a good 2 in one) the mind flayers would be a breeze, Just try to get them a few at a time so you won't get your mind consumed.

*There are few counter-backstab items in the game, Better get them, just in case.

*Greater Deathblows are your friends!

*Greater Whirlwinds are your very vicious friends who beat up people you don't like.

*Hardiness is a life saver (especially combined with mirror image)

*That magic resistance special ability is pretty useless if you ask me. You can have 35% magic resistance without and special ability

*Critical strike + improved inviso = Wizard slayer

*Smite is... well, pretty useless as having to chace enemies you just pounded across the screen takes too much game time and you'd only get one critical hit with it.

*Improved haste is occasionnaly better than greater whirl attacks especially when combined with critical strike or greater deathblow.

*Get the firetooth crossbow. Few are the weapons which are more useful than this one.

*(NOT A STRATEGY)Draconis is a female of the canine family. Anyone knows how a solo warrior can dispell combat protections? I just wait 'till they run out.

That's all I have to say.
