Lord Brass has summed it up very clearly and correctly. I studied the experience tables, reviewed the experience cap, and then dualed Imoen at level 5. If you think you may have "wasted 20,000 exp", you could go back to an old save if you still have it. Study those charts before doing anything rash. Good luck.
