Have Tenser's give the most bang for the buck: Do it with a Kensai->Mage who put at least 9 levels into his Kensai half. That way, you get double a FIGHTER's hitpoints, not just double a Mage's.

Or if you want extra cheese with that, have your Kensai->Thief use a scroll of Tenser's.
