THACO stands for "To Hit armor class Zero) - if you do a search of the forum you will find more than one post describing this in full
Lore is an indication of what items the character can identify (higher the better)
Saving Throws are what the computer checks to see whether you take the full effects of a spell, dragons breath etc... i.e. they determine whether you roll, duck or deflect the effects(lower the better)
