Charlander, planetars are very useful. They're excellent in melee and have a number of useful spells. They have something like 3-5 full Heal spells in the spell inventory, great for patching up wounds after a battle is over. Heck, more than a couple times, I summoned a Planetar just to cast all of its Heal spells on my party. They only thing is that a summoned planetar only stays around for a few rounds, not hours.
