I feel bad for the guys who came up with Baldurs Gate. They had a far reaching story in mind and were forced to cut it short. You can tell TOB was rushed. The gameplay is completely linear. The new dungeon is the only part that didn't look rushed. The little smart-ass Imp was a cute idea. Such is the problem with games and books. The publishing companies want them stretched out to get the most money, but when they're ready to drop a series, they want it tied up and finished in one more book/game. That's if they even give you that opportunity. I wonder how many game series and book series were cut short in mid-saga because of flagging profits?
