Swavek,
I agree some of the music in IWD creates a pretty good atmosphere, the only thing missing is that the are no NPC like Edwin etc, which would have added to its appeal.
I would say for fun value, IWD is better, but for strategic moves combatting the various spellcasters, story and NPC invlovement, BG is a lot better.
What would make both games better is tkaing a hard look at the damn administration, like saving/loading games, treasure collecting/selling, knowing what thing does what. This all takes far too bloody long. They need to come up with some simple windows drop menu, and search options.
Eg 20 dead characters on the ground with various treasures.
1.Drop menu "collect all" automatically populates various free space, who cares were it is for now.
2.View "new items"
etc
About to fight a vampire
1. key Search words "Negative plane protection" at least highlights what items you currently hold and spells work against it, and who currently holds them....
Anyway, I understand that this is the experience factor and you need to learn as you go.....but stuff it.....I and probably many people cannot spend hours on the game, I would prefer not stuffing around with admin...just enjoy the game.
There ya go
