you should have found 2 hearts. Yaga Sura's was in the fire pit... and the witch's heart was hidden back in Yaga's quarters. You take both hearts back to the witch. I forget what the witch does to his heart, but it makes him vulnerable again. The witch has a change of heart, summons some stuff (dryad, shambling mound, etc) and attacks you but at your level, this doesn't pose a problem. You should be able to beat Yaga now.

I beat him with a 19-20th level party (except for Jaheira, who was 13th/13th level). Tough battle, but beat it on the first try.

Question, what level of difficulty are you playing at?
