the party splitting problem was addressed in the TOB version 26498 patch.
re the sound problem, if you're running WIN9x, check in the system listing (in control panel)to see if the sound card is not working due to confilcts.
otherwise you could go into multimedia (also in control panel) and see what sort of sound card settings are available - if there's an option to choose a SB16 emulator try selecting that one.
