Acctually, you can dual to a subclass - w/shadowkeeper (ie. fighter dualed to an assasin). However, I have never tried it where the basic class couldn't be dualed (ie. a ranger to anything other than a cleric). (I basically see this as a programing flaw that can be overcome w/ shadow keeper.)

Soon I will prob. do a lengthy article on Shadow Keeper and it uses on the Amn board and ref. it w/ my article on the best bg2 player char..

Remember on "dualing" that you must be 15 in preq. ability of your 1st class (ie. fighter = 15 or more in str), and your next class must have a min. of 17 in its major preq. (ie. Assasin = 17 or more in dex) - remember though that if you dual to a class that has major and minor preq. that you must satisfy both (like druids needing 17 in wis. and a fairly high # in char, but I'm not sure what the # is). You will also need to have the right alignment (ie. druid needs true neutral).

Oh, and welcome to the board!
