You need to name the files correctly--it needs to be CoranL.bmp and CoranS.bmp, and they go in the Portraits folder, not the Override folder (even though overriding something is exactly what you want them to do).

Some NPCs have slightly different portrait names--I don't know what Shar-Teel's is.
