Well I did confirm it, so hopefully this will help you guys having text and dialogue problems.
There seem to be 2 text/dialogue bugs happening, one is based off Windows 2000, you sometimes get a character who you talk to that seems to be busy with something, this is a older bug thats been in Baldur's gate for a while, and seems to be the same in TOB. I think there was a patch to fix it in BG2, but I don't know if there is one for TOB yet. Most people say just leaving the area and comming back in fixes it for them.
The 2nd is the problem we've been having with no text or dialogue showing up when we get into TOB. Ive had this, and many others. This seems to be caused by having the english or multipatch downloaded from Baldurdash. Kevin was on the Black Isle forums helping out, and reminds everyone that these 2 patches are UNOFFICIAL PATCHES he designed for BG2.
He gets TOB the same time everyone else does, so he couldn't be sure his patch worked for the TOB addon, which it doesnt. Im not sure which patches interfere with with, but uninstalling BG2 and TOB, then reinstalling them (without the patches) fixes this problem. I tested that out personally, now im running about killing stuff in TOB LOL.
If you do uninstall and reinstall your files, make sure you reinstall the last OFFICIAL baldur's gate 2 patch, but don't install Kevin's Baldurdash patches yet, he will have to adjust them to work for TOB once he gets the game and can fiddle around with it.
