The dusty books give you little bits of info to help nudge you in the right direction. I just picked them up, read them, then dropped them. The blood filled goblet works similar to a potion of healing, but makes the imbiber run away at the first sighn of danger for a period of time. NO THANKS, I would rather keep a supply of potions.(No nasty side-effects, and I can have more than one in an item slot.)
