a fair few times although i
still haven't finished ToB for some reason
i also tend to run a lot of games on tracks as i do the same old thing and chase the same old equipment
solo games get abandoned when the character gets too powerful - a sub-category of this is that i often abandon high-level duals soon after the original class is re-activiated
party games get abandoned when the party-management gets too much
my most popular abandon point is after making the main plot boat trip or the dark bit afterwards - i think that's partly the mood of these areas and partly the timing as it's when the first two reasons tend to happen
other than trying different solos i find that ideas to make things interesting also make things more hassly so there's kinda faiure built into that idea
i abandoned an evil party game at the start of ToB when i realised that the boots of speed wouldn't work on Edwin . . .
not that i'm complaining like
ps: my current party is a basic party of 4/5 with my PC as a mage which has predictably increased the amount of magic i threw around - i also took Fade (a nicely done thief NPC) through SoA (she has no ToB content yet) which added some more newness
and i replaced Fade with the ToB NPC dualled-to thief which gives me something to 'achieve'
i haven't played BG for a little while now (the party are bogged down a bit in Watcher's keep clearing the laboratories) - if i run true to form when i find some time to play i'll probably start a new character

anyway . . .
