You have to either complete Mekrath's quest or kill him. Since he's attacking you, I would guess the first option is right out [img]smile.gif[/img]

Try waiting for his spell buffs to run out, then buff yourself up and get him. Make sure you have something that deals elemental damage (fire, acid, cold, poison) to get through his Stoneskins to disrupt his spells, and perhaps some Magic Missiles to pop his Mirror Images.
