I'm afraid I can't help you on how to do this, but I DO know that there is a glitch in the game that prevents Renal's collector from ever showing up. I've had this happen once or twice when I first got the game so it is probably fixed in the official patch. I have to agree that I hate paying the money simply because his timer is different from your theives' timer. The theives sometimes finish 2 days before Renal's collector comes, so you have to make 2 trips to the guild. Perhaps you could turn him to stone as he runs out? I'll have to try a few ideas of my own.
