The only problem is that he will soon lose 1 mage and his only thief. I would recommend Jan Jansen to fill this opening, since he can actually fill both slots that will be opened.

I agree that Aerie should be your FIRST addition to your party. She can "load up" on healing spells, allowing your PC and Jaheira to perhaps choose a couple of extra "buff" spells instead of memorizing only healing spells. That gives you two strong fighters up front and a great back-up fighter/healer in the second line of defense. After getting Aerie, you should add Jan for the thieving skills your party is missing. This also gives you two mages, which means LOTS of buff spells and LOTS of damage spells against the enemy.

After that, I agree with Andraste about leaving the 6th spot open to allow different NPC's to join your merry group long enough to complete their individual quests. [img]graemlins/thumbsup.gif[/img]
