Thanks, Ivelliis, your suggestion to click on the Black Isle and other intros in order to skip them works very well and is much more convenient than hitting the ESC button.

As far as changing the baldur.ini file goes, I'll mull it over some more. At any rate, I'll be busy the next few days and won't have time to experiment with the settings.
