I have a love of Sunfire as a solo Sorcerer. There is nothing that Sunfire can't do (unless they're completely immune to fire). Load it up with a Spell Trigger, let it loose. Surrounded? Sunfire! No idea what to do with those level 5 slots that are almost never used (at least they weren't for me)? Sunfire! Trolls on your case? Sunfire!
Now, once you get to the higher levels, be prepared to be bored out of your wits. Your spells are powerful. Your summons are powerful. Your equipment is powerful. Hell, everything except for the enemy is powerful.
