I agree with the sentiment of playing through a couple of times before soloing. It helps to know where traps are, what tactics the enemies like to use, etc. However, sorcerer is definitely one of the easiest (as well as a F/M/T multiclass, as it covers pretty much all of the bases). In fact, I gave up my sorcerer solo as I just got bored with it; I could blast anything from dragons to liches with a minimum of effort, cast knock on chests, have mirror image soak up trap damage, etc. Once I got to level 15 and had skeleton warriors, it got old pretty quick.

Now, I have been dabbling with a bounty hunter solo, and that has been fun. You can abuse trap cheese, but the big thing is getting around spellcasters (pretty much have to run away and wait for their spell protections to run out, or hope a backstab takes them out before they realize you are there).

You do level very, very quickly as a solo. You also learn how to use all of a classes abilities to their fullest, as you have no choice in the matter.
