Kurio is always fun to fight with, and you did make full use of the Tradesmeet guards.
Congratulations on your victory - but SHEEESH, what did your Rep drop to by the time you were done. I would imagine you are now the PARIAH of Trademeet rather than the Hero.
Just for the record, Kuriosan carries 5 scrolls of Protection from Magic Weapons (IIRC). He was far too powerful for my assassin and his party after I retrieved Celestial Fury, so I finally just decided to use CNTRL-Y (Hey, I'm a Neutral Evil Assassin - do you really expect me to fight fair? ). So my assassin got some very nice scrolls for Edwin to use on the party in addition to a seriously BUTT-KICKING sword.
My solo bard has an upgraded version of Zerth's Dakkon Blade that he has been carrying. I was surprised that didn't spawn Kurioson. I also used Shadowkeeper to give him a Bag of Holding that - unknown to me - was pre-filled with several very nice items, including yet another katana that I know should spawn Mr. K. (Malakar +2). So I cast all my buff spells (including the Fireshield tactic), equipped Malakar, and waited....and waited.....and waited.
But he never showed up. So I guess I'll have to go the Guarded Compound and THAT part first before I can get Captain K. to show up. I don't really plan to use Sanchu for my bard (although that regeneration and acid backlash is really nice)....I just want to see if I can defeat him with a solo character (without killing any innocent bystanders in the process.
