As a Final Fantasy buff, I took some of their spells and stuck them in Faerun. Complete with nifty graphics.
Note: The spell Pain was originally intended to be used *at* the PC, not *by* the PC, during a specific encounter. It proves rather impractical for a PC to memorize, but works nicely against the PC.
Demi
Level: 5
School: Alteration
Casting Time: 4
Save: None
Range: Sight of caster
The target is brought down to seventy-five percent of their current hit points.
Pain
Level: 8
School: Necromancy
Casting Time: 1 round
Save: Death
Duration: See below
This spell lowers the target's Constitution and gives -3 to AC for 2.5 game hours. If the target has under 90 hit points at the time of casting, there is a 25% chance the target will be Stunned for one minute, a 40% chance the character will be stricken blind for three minutes, and a 10% chance of the character being Feebleminded. Save vs. Death negates the Constitution loss.
Ultima
Level: 10/Nether Spell
School: Evocation
Casting Time: 1 round
Saves: None
Range: 30-foot radius centered on caster (like Sunfire)
There is no record of Ultima that exists on Toril at this time. It was initially on one of the famed Nether Scrolls, and a high council of elven mages decided to destroy the secrets of this forbidden spell, for fear that its awesome destructive power would be misused. It does 1d10 each of fire, cold, electrical, piercing, and magical damage. There is no saving throw and it pierces through magic resistance. The caster is immune to this... if she wasn't, she would likely be consumed by the spell.
