my first pc that i played was of course a fighter/human. i didn't finish chapter 6, but decided instead to head to durlag's tower. i had a lot of fun in durlag's but never fully completed it. i then started a new game, with again a fighter/human. i finished up with baldurs gate but never went any further. i was getting a little burned out. so two months have passed and now i want to go all the way with an all-mage party, or atleast a "mage oriented" party. my main character is a half elf fighter/mage with god-like stats. i obviously cannot fulfill this goal of having an all "mage oriented" party until i reach the gate and meet up with quayale, and dual imoen as a mage. anyways, the point i want to make is that the game can be relatively easy when you have the traditional (tank, cleric, mage, thief, archer) party. it simply gets tedious and boring having your tank be the constant distraction while the rest of your party shoots missiles. atleast it is for me.

if you are playing for the first time i would definetly recomend that you stick with the "traditional" party. although i can almost guarentee that you will eventually get burned out and look for other ways of spicing things up. like i am doing with my little mage party experiment.
