Hey, look at it this way: If I correcetly assume that your PC is "good" then you role-played the part honestly (which is something you can only truly do the first time around). Now you just have to live with the consequences. Don't reload, just move on.
The next time you play through you'll be able to "rationalize" a way to roleplay a good party that would agree to Edwin's evil quest.
You may find quite a few unintended consequences to your roleplaying during the game. Don't worry, whatever you do you'll still be able to finish the game.
