You can be elven if Bhaal assumes the form of an elf, and sleeps with an elf. You can be a half-elf three ways, I would imagine:
a) Bhaal assumes the form of an elf and sleeps with a human
b) Bhaal assumes the form of a human and sleeps with an elf
c) Bhaal assumes the form of a half-elf and sleeps with a half-elf
You can use this as a guide for all the other races, too.
