That is correct. There are
three Thief lords in the Docks.
Renal Bloodscalp: Publicly known as the head of all Thief activity in Athkatla, although he himself states that he is not the leader of the Shadow Thieves.
Mae'Var: Renal's lieutenant, runs the Docks District with an iron fist. These two guys are known to be high-ranking Thieves, even by the average-joe Commoners on the street--just ask them.
Aran Linvail: Known only by his officers and a few outside contacts (such as Gaelan Bayle), he is the head honcho, the Shadowmaster of Athkatla. Nobody else has even heard of him.
Renal and Mae'Var have nothing whatsoever to do with finding Imoen, but you MUST go through Aran Linvail (one way or another) in order to reach her. Due to a bizarre bit of of coding by BioWare, it's even possible to kill both Mae'Var and Renal and
still work for Aran. Wierd, huh?
