[/QUOTE]True, but if you mistake Studded Leather for Leather & switch to a Piercing weapon, you've gone from expecting a +2 to getting a -1. If you can't tell the difference between Chain Mail & Splint Mail, your Club may suffer a 4 point swing in To Hit modifier.

As for non-Fighter types, I agree. If you have no choice but to spread your proficiencies around, then you may as well spread your proficiencies around. [img]smile.gif[/img]
