Um, I'm of the opinion that samurai without a lord could be just as honorable as those serving a titled landowner-- [/QUOTE]well, I'm not in disagreement with you here. in my pervious post I merely wanted to point out the origin of the Samurai class, and any warrior can be as honorable (or even more so) as samurai, especially those ex-samurai/ronin. They can become knight errant type of ronin (ie those depicted in the movie Seven Samurai) or bandits.
