You don't need to put it in the BG2 folder. Just put it on your desktop if you want. The program automatically finds the location of your game (default is C:\Program Files\Black Isle\BGII-SoA or something along those lines. When you open it, it'll index your files or something. When it's ready, click on open (upper left hand corner), chose the save you want to edit (you can't edit quick-save and auto-save by default, but you can change that through a setting), and then edit away. A screen pops up with a picture of the current character with a toolbar beneath it. The toolbar switches between characters. When you're done editing, close that window that popped up, and it will ask you if you want to save your changes. It will then ask you what you want to save it as. Say your game is called Blah. After changes, it's like Blah (edited 0000001). I don't know the number of zeros, not important [img]smile.gif[/img] . That's the game with the changes. Always check to make sure there are no bugs, although I can't say that I've heard of people encountering bugs in SoA from the editor.
