If it's AC you desire, then your AC is only going to get better.

When you beat the snazu out of the Demon Knights, blind the enemies with envy from a gleaming set of Armor of the Hart (upgrade to you know what when you meet you know who in ToB).

Do you still have the Gorgan Plate? It has the best modifiers against Slashing Weapons in the entire game spectrum.

Access to the Drow City means the Sentinel Shield (upgrade to a better shield in ToB). Viola, push that AC number lower.

When you resurface. A visit to everybody's favourite Demi-Lich will mean further AC reduction, better saving throws, immunity to Poison/Disease and regeneration. Play Jingle Bells with the Mace of Disruption +2 for laughs.

The Defender of Easthaven grants a -1 AC bonus and gives phy. dmg. resistances to boot.

If missile weapons are not a concern and Magic Damage is not a worry, AC Modifying Belts will make your day.

Quip: The spell Regeneration is pretty handy in prolonged fights. Pretty scary regeneration rate, especially if you haste yourself (Gauntlet from the Kuo-Tua Prince, Ring of Gaxx, etc...).
