First, I'm just curious, how many times has this been discussed?? Also, why is it continually discussed? The truth is, BG2 has always been about pure power, and in that, mages are naturally a better choice, even in old D&D. True, BG2 is heavily oriented towards mages as the "ultimate" power, but we are speaking in the context of the game.
