Dart is a great choice of weapon, lots of attacks and 'magical' darts with poison/stun ability are abundant.
The other weapon I would consider for the Wizard Slayer/Thief is the humble dagger. There is a rather nice throwing dagger/melee dagger called firetooth... and it does a decent amount of damage as well.
