You can't actually KILL Bhaal, you can only get him to "Near Death." But to complete the dream sequence, you have to
1) Get him to Near Death
2) Get him into Imoen's sight radius.
When that happens, Imoen will (should) say her piece, and then things will happen. If Imoen does not say her piece, you should (dun dun dun DUNNNN).....
Initiate conversation with her yourself.
