He's wearing Shadow Armor, not shadow scale armor. I think I got it from the Adventurer's Mart in WK.
Faceman, I accidentally left it out; In my 7th attempt, I hid Yoshimo in the shadows and then put him on the steps, as far away from Firkraag as possible.
