Me: Muticlassed Ranger/Cleric.
Party: Mazzy, Keldorn, Valygar, Kelsey, Imoen.
Note that in order to grab Keldorn early on, I had to trigger the start of the Unseeing Eye very early. Similarly, I had to start parts of the Umar Hills quests when I got Mazzy (and, to a lesser extent, Valygar).
In a previous run-through, I discovered that a Ranger/Cleric cannot
complete the Umar Hills quests if he/she wants the Cleric Stronghold: As soon as a Ranger PC tells the Mayor that the Shade Lord is dead, then Minister Lloyd does not
*ask* if you want the Ranger Stronghold--he simply *gives* it to you, whether you want it or not.
So, on this game, I zipped through Imnesvale like a coward: My party was my R/C and Yoshimo, and we went directly to Valygar's cabin--we even avoided initiating the Mayor's little scene at the fountain. Then, the 3 of us went through the Temple Ruins, staying in Stealth the whole time, killed the bare minimum amount of guards, grabbed Mazzy, and got the hell out. We still haven't spoken a single word to Minister Lloyd.
That was all in Chapter 2. Now it's Chapter 6, and high time I got myself into the Church of Lathander. I head back to the Temple District and rip the Cult of the Unseeing Eye a new one. I return with news of the deed to High Watcher Oisig. He gives me the same old spiel I've always gotten from him: Great rewards "if I were one of the faith," etc, plus his usual gold and trinkets. What the heck? Okay, I figured, maybe it's because I'm of
Good Alignment, so now I just have to finish the
Lathander parts of the quests. During the Sir Sarles episode, my conversation options were those of a follower of Helm. Huh? And, finally, after wrapping up the business with the Dawn Ring, Dawnbringer Sain "regrets that I was not of the Church!" What gives?!? And to put the frosting on the cake, I went pack to Oisig, who told me that "I had passed up an opportunity" that "would not come again!" WTF???
In desperation, I actually checked Dan Simpson's walkthrough. Unfortunately, he doesn't detail exactly what's
supposed to happen when you're trying to get your Stronghold, but he did have this to say:

Oisig. Does a Cleric have to actually be one of the Cleric
kits to join a Temple? Was it due to the fact that my Reputation was "Average" during Gaal's speech? Should I just fling Skullcrusher through the sources of my aggravation and leave it at that?
