What about a bare-chested barbarian.
Conan didn't run around in chainmail, didn't he? The true barbarian does not need to dress himself in big bulky armor, he can take the pain.
Simply, a solo barbarian that refuses to wear anything in the body slot. It should be easy to find a cheesy portrait to suit him.
