@Konrad: what you are mentioning is part of the original Shade Lord quest. The main quest you do in the Umar Hills and Temple Ruins. AFTER completion of that quest you get offered the "Ranger Stronghold"-quests IF your main character is a ranger (or any subkit like Stalker or Archer). I believe we are talking about these quests here as the title and some hints in the first post suggest it.

@everybody else: there are three quests for the Ranger-Protector of the Umar Hills and only the last one involves the actual temple. The first one takes place in the woods at the temple ruins. The second one in Imnesvale. Only the third requires you to descend into the ruins again.
