Not with the new distribution that is. It does no longer have the BG1 movies which you need to cpoy manually from your BG1 discs. Now I know very well that you can cheat your way around this easily but talking common user you need BG1 to install BGT.
I for example have already downloaded a part of the old distribution and therefore gotten the movie files before they were taken out. I know I'm walking a thin line here, but I figured since I owned BG1 (lost my discs - rather had them lost by someone else ) I could use BGT to make up for my loss (after all I re-bought SoA+ToB after losing them)

AFAIK there's a mod in development called "The big picture" which will integrate BGT, Spine of the World and some other mini-mods into BG2.
