On un-install it should give the option to keep or delete save files, but to be safe you may wan't to back up the save folder. And remember where it was so you can put it back where the game will look for it. But typically (in my experience) save files and .ini files will linger after an uninstall, even with some games that warn you about settings and save files being erased.
