The sad thing is that this fake truthiness always leads to something having a life of its own. Other people, unnamed here, have taken this opportunity to say that maybe this quote was fake but it still shows an underlying truth -- that Obama doesn't understand the constitution and/or hates it. This, of course, was Rush's conclusion in the "Wah this is all about me" part at the end.
He's such a big sissy. (Apparently a word for felines doesn't make it through the profanity filter here.)
Anyway, the notion that Obama doesn't understand the Const. and/or hates it strikes me as just.... well, blindingly, retardedly, mouth-breathingly stupid. Of course, that's opinion.
But, here's some facts. The guy did teach Constitutional Law, three courses a year, for 13 (IIRC) years. How much did he know about it? Well, let's see:
Here's his exam from 1996:

Okay, now here's the kicker. I never, NEVER, had a professor do this. After the exam, he gave out the model answers/discussion that would have aced the test.

So, if you don't like my curmudgeonly, insulting opinion, take a look at the guy's typical work in a Con Law course and decide for yourself. Does he sound like a guy who hates the Constitution?
Oh, and if the longish essay by Obama is a bit TL;DR for you, here's a writeup in Slate from Summer 2008 analyzing his writing, and even postulating that it could be very hard for someone with such an obviously nuanced understanding of the law to win the election:
