Manikus, Oliver and Group,

I went back and reset the condition on the initial chain to "If event doesn't happen" and it worked. When you come from the North it reads "Chained Event" and when you come from any other direction (E, W or S) it reads "Normal Chain".

This like using a calculator with reverse Polish notation or Superman in Bizzarro World, but I can live with this.
