Re: Obama budget could bring $9.3 trillion in deficits
Well, it is in the process of dying off. As for the sore loser thing I couldn't agree more. But it is always the way with the minority after the majority wins. I guess there is no such thing as graceful defeat, in more ways than one. Nothing they say or do can change the fact that their party is essentially in shambles. And now, I am hearing that their unofficial leader is none other than Rush Limbaugh, who is pretty much an extremist even as far as republicans go. If they wanted to figure out why they're losing, then their "leaders" would be a good place to look. Even other republicans were speaking out saying the man is basically insane, and says shit just to start conflict.
I would also agree with this thing I am hearing about there being no moderate republicans anymore, just hard right-wingers, many of them with nutty views and ideas. They have become (and through their own faults only) "the bad guys". Plus, a large number of the republicans that appear in the media (almost all of them) are loudmouthed, rude and pretty much crazy people. Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham. This is the face they choose to put on themselves and unfortunately for them, it sticks. In this light, the democrats look like the sane people, the good people, and this is why America called for change and got it.
I think that, for a month or so there, there was potential for some serious upheavel on the right, because the party began questioning what it was doing wrong. But, then the extreme right-wingers mentioned above said there was no need for change, and that the party was fine the way it is. I imagine that the window for reform has passed now and the party will just continue to run itself into the ground. In the space of a few years, it lost the house and the presidency.
