If you only have NWN2 installed and/or MotB, you might want to try installing TonyK's AI. Check out this thread:

and follow the links to the version that suits your installation.
It significantly improves the AI for both monsters and characters, and can be customized extensively.
A version of this mod is actually part of the AI upgrade that is done with the Storm of Zehir expansion.
Beyond that, I wouldn't recommend any specific mods although there are some community fixes available for SoZ that are useful if you have that installed.
