You can remove the party bars by unchecking the party tab. You can remove some party members by right clicking the tab with X-perl open, and clicking "close". You can add party portraits in 3d or 2d, take them off altogether, add percentages or numbers if you prefer, or even both. You can totally axe any party members appearing (is this what you want to do?) by simply unchecking "X-perl Party" in the "All" tab. The party interface won't appear.
You can also change the color, texture, size and position of the castbar just like you can do with almost anything in X-perl.
As for enabling and tweaking mods for different alts., your addons screen coupled with your mod settings/profiles does this, enabling some mods to not come on at all or to come on with different settings for different chars.

Yeah well I had to log off already and when I would log back some time later it would be too near to raiding time. So I "rebooted" back to my previous plugins and shut off my computer.
Will try tweaking again when I got time.
