I think it's fine to use the FRUA art in your mod (if you can't find a better option, aesthetically speaking), but I don't want to take the chance of having the DC project disappear b/c of it.
This is all worst case scenario stuff I have to think about as an admin for the project. Realistically, Hasbro has done nothing to stop images from being used, and neither has WotC. The only company that regularly issues 'Cease and Desist' orders is LucasArts Ltd. And they only do it when money is somehow involved (including using SW images to draw in ad revenue via Google).
