I also am a fan of the old dryads.
I've said this before, but it seems to apply even more this time - why change everything and keep the name? If it's all new, give it a new name. I guess you could still call this Dungeons and Dragons, but add a word on at the front to let people know that they shouldn't expect the same thing. For example, they could have called 4th edition something like "Epic Dungeons and Dragons" or "Amazing Dungeons and Dragons".
