No, it's not like that, or like that for the other monsters, which I may have given the impression it could be.
It's more like a 6 hit die beast is this kind of dinosaur and a 9 hit die beast is this different kind of dinosaur. Same thing for the giants. Though, I suppose a titan fire giant isn't so when it's a baby....
