Default Re: Art Programs?

I usually end up alternating between Paint Shop Pro 8 and Photoshop CS2 depending on what I am trying to do. I don't think there is any single program that is perfect for everything. The old Neopaint prog was my personal favorite for many years until the commercial software became good enough that their slower loading times became worth waiting for.

@Logo: [shudders violently at the thought] That is probably why I stuck with simple text adventures and IF authoring tools like TADS all those years. I'd probably have never graduated to the world of graphics editing and graphically intensive game design if it hadn't been for BTCS and FRUA. Now I even dabble in a little practice editing of 3D models and textures for FPS Creator. Thanks to that initial inspirational nudge from FRUA and later DC I have diversified considerably.

Although that does mean I am spreading myself a little thin I have found that I can often reuse stuff from one type of game I am working on in another. Like crossover resources. Like Manikus' use of DAZ to edit 3d models and textures for use with DC. The creators of Dark Basic and FPSC offer a whole slew of programs like that.
