I feel that way about American broadcast television. I think there is some interesting stuff happening on cable, but no way am I going to pay $40/month just to watch what I can wait a few months for to check out from the library for free if I like (DVDs of shows, etc.).
Though, it would be kind of cool to get the discovery channels and maybe the history channels...I should just check if they release their shows on DVD.
