Default Re: Creating Wall Set Images for Dungeon Craft (What programs to use?)

EZ-tex: as far as I know, it's gone. It used to be hosted at the official site, but I took it down. It's not open source and there was no type of statement with it as to permissions for usage and such. I'm not sure, but maybe the guy that made it went by the name of Phalzyr...one might be able to find out by combing through old yahoo list messages.

3D: DC doesn't use a ture 3D perspective, but a 'kinda' one-point perspective that is distorted along the y-axis, and then a funky, unique perspective for certain angled walls. As far as I can tell, you cannot take a texture and run it through a 3D program to make a wall for DC. (With that being said, you could make solid color walls with a 3D program...) If you have 4 different versions of the texture, you can do a wall in a 3D program...but I think you can get just as good of results, if not better, doing it 2D.

Making the wall is all about patience and practice.

The best place to start is with a template, and then cut, paste and copy your texture into the appropriate places, distorting the texture for the angled walls.

I prefer to work using a graphics program that supports layers, such as Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, or the free, GIMP.
